Position Profile

The individual will be a member of the Global Molecule Team and responsible for commercial development strategy associated with both early and late-stage Hematology-Oncology development programs.  This individual will work closely with others in numerous functional areas including but not limited to Market Access, Commercial Operations, Product Management Corporate Development, Clinical, Regulatory, Compliance, Medical affairs, Finance and other colleagues in New Product Planning.  This position will report to the Vice President of New Product Planning.


  • Contribute to shaping Jazz Pharmaceuticals’ overall clinical and development strategy by integrating market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and input from the external experts and the commercial team
  • Spearhead commercial view of life cycle management strategy, including assessment of new formulations, new indications, and label enhancements to maximize the value of the franchise
  • Serve as the commercial sub-team leader on the Global Molecule Team, guiding pre-commercial development activities including target product profile refinement, publication planning, thought leader engagement, selection of physical product features and commercial packaging, REMS planning, market development, global branding and positioning, etc
  • Ensure all market development activities are completed and a seamless transition takes place to the Launch Team at the appropriate time in the development cycle
  • Partner globally with cross-functional team members in the development of short and long-term strategic business plans that develop and build product strength and ensure global market success
  • Support the development of revenue and financial forecasts associated with development programs and identify key strategic levers tied to investment decisions and the Long Range Planning model.
  • In concert with the GMT, present market insights and strategic recommendations  to Senior Management
  • Establish Jazz Pharmaceuticals as a committed and relevant partner in Hematology-Oncology thereby advancing treatments for clinicians and patients suffering from serious Hematology-Oncology-related conditions

Experiences required for success

  • 7+ years of Direct Brand Management experience
  • Experience leading a commercialization planning effort for a near term development or in-line product.
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Track record of collaboration with both commercial and non-commercial functions
  • Superb analytic skills

Following experiences considered a significant plus:

  • Deal transaction familiarity.
  • Commercial participation in the launch of a product
  • Customer facing responsibilities
  • 10+  years in pharmaceutical commercial positions
  • BA in life science and MBA strongly preferred.
