Position Profile

The Director, Consumer Marketing, Solriamfetol will help define and execute the US consumer launch strategy for Solriamfetol (e.g. positioning, messaging, branding, patient outreach and partner with market research).  Lead and align cross-functional teams through successful execution of launch.  This role requires application of in-line consumer marketing expertise and operational leadership to achieve launch results

This candidate will be responsible for aligning a cross-functional team around a consumer strategic vision and purpose while leading, inspiring, developing and motivating the team to successfully achieve individual and organizational objectives.  The candidate will help drive product adoption within FDA-approved indication(s) as well as develop short and long term strategic plans to maximize the value of Solriamfetol for patients and for Jazz Inc.  This position will report to the Solriamfetol Marketing Lead, Sleep Business Unit.

Additionally, the position entails strong strategic/analytical thinking as well as creativity and decision-making skills. A proven track record of success in developing and executing marketing tactics and working in a team-based environment is critical for this role.

This individual will:

  • Lead the development and execution of the Solriamfetol consumer strategy and campaign across appropriate channels, including brand positioning, concept design and messaging
  • Lead the development and execution of the disease awareness campaign for Obstructive Sleep Apnea and/or Narcolepsy
  • Lead the development and implementation of Solriamfetol Digital strategy (website, search, banner ads)
  • Coordinate and align with cross-functional and marketing colleagues, agencies, and other stakeholders to implement brand consumer strategies and drive results
  • Oversee agency partners and other vendors to ensure strategic alignment and executional excellence
  • Manage overall brand A&P budget ensuring spend within 2% of budget

  • Proven track record of identifying insights and developing effective strategies and tactics based on these insights
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong strategic thinking and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Team oriented individual with solid communication skills including significant experience presenting to senior management and large audiences.
  • Approximately 30-40% travel is required. 
  • The position is located in the Philadelphia, PA office however qualified candidates may alternatively work in the Palo Alto, CA office. Relocation to a home office is required.           

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • Bachelor’s Degree (life sciences or a related discipline a plus (e.g. sleep))
  • MBA (preferred)
  • 10+ years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with significant retail in-line consumer marketing experience, Launch experience preferred

Description of Physical Demands

  • Frequent travel between meeting sites.
  • Frequently operating a computer, printer, telephone and other similar office machinery.

Description of Work Environment

  • Frequent interactions with external contacts in their office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes.
  • Frequent computer laptop or tablet use, not usually at a workstation.
  • Responsibilities may require a work schedule that may include working outside of “normal” work hours, in order to meet business demands.
  • Frequent public contact requiring appropriate business apparel.
