    Position Profile

    The Director of Procurement is responsible for implementing and supporting the strategic sourcing and Third Party Management at Jazz Pharmaceuticals.  Responsibilities include procurement lifecycle management (opportunity analysis, business requirements analysis, purchase/price cost analysis, negotiation with suppliers and supplier relationship management).  The scope of functional responsibilities, includes Commercial - US, Research and Development, and G&A.

    The overall scope for the role includes:

    • Managing Third Parties (in line with policies and procedures)
    • Identifying, evaluating, and providing cost savings opportunities
    • Leading purchasing efforts with our significant vendors and spend
    • Conducting or participating in supplier audits (as requested)
    • Conducting or supporting vendor contract negotiation
    • Assisting internal departments with the Procure to Pay process
    • Use and training of all Procurement system(s)
    • Managing the vendor sourcing and execution strategies

    The primary responsibilities for the role includes:

    • Third Party Management and Strategic Sourcing
    • Identification and research of vendors, including researching potential vendors
    • Negotiation of vendor contracts
    • Partner with functional departments in the development and management of risk mitigation strategies business continuity planning for key suppliers.
    • Assist in the qualification of suppliers and participate in supplier audits, as required
    • Lead quarterly business reviews with the management team of key suppliers (SRM)
    • Ensure that the Procure to Pay process is adhered to-Ensure compliance with Jazz Pharmaceuticals policies
    • Education of Jazz employees on Procurement process and responsibilities
    • Acts as the liaison between vendors and Jazz departments
    • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve Procurement, decrease turnaround times, streamline processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Minimum 10 years Procurement/Strategic Sourcing experience
    • Experience with biotech/pharmaceutical companies preferred
    • Experience with the practice of Category Management preferred
    • Strong project management and communication skills

    Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

    • Bachelor's degree in business, science or a related field; advanced degree preferred
    • Certified Professional in Supply Management, Certified Purchasing Manager, or Certified Professional Purchasing Manager preferred
