    Position Profile

    Brief Description:

    Jazz Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced CISO to lead our information security function.  The CISO is the leading advocate for information security and is responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive information security strategy to optimize the security posture of the organization and ensure information assets are adequately protected.  The CISO leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive security program, oversees information security governance, identifies business risks most relevant to Jazz, advises senior leadership on security direction and resource investments, designs appropriate policies to manage information security, implements effective practices for security awareness and is responsible for identifying, evaluating and reporting on information security risks in a manner that meets business,  compliance and regulatory requirements.  This position requires a leadership approach that is engaging, collaborative and business driven with the strong ability to work with other executive leaders to best balance between business, security and IT priorities.  The CISO is a business leader and should have a proven track record of competency in the field of information security or risk management for a global corporation.  The CISO will report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and will serve as a member of the IT leadership team.

    Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Solicits broad input internally and externally to develop a business driven strategy for information security
    • Continuously and extensively reaches out externally to understand the latest cyber security threats, risks, innovations, risk management approaches and industry benchmarks; maintains a strong and current understanding of the threat landscape for the industry and Jazz
    • Establishes strategy, objectives, priorities and budget for information security driven by business needs; ensures investment levels achieve security at the appropriate risk tolerance levels
    • Partnes with the Chief Privacy Officer to develop aligned objectives and plans to comply with data privacy regulations
    • Leads, partners and oversees cross-functional execution of information security initiatives
    • Co-leads the privacy and information security committee
    • Leads and manages the cybersecurity, IT compliance and IT assurance teams; develops the organizational capability roadmap for these functions
    • Defines, implements and leads organizational change management initiatives for promoting awareness of Information Security risks and to help the corporation adapt to new behaviors, processes and technology changes
    • Consults with business units regarding their changing business and technical plans to identify Information Security needs
    • Advises senior management of changes in the technical, legal, and regulatory arenas affecting Information Security
    • Leads the development, execution, assessment and continuous improvement of the information security program – architecture, security operations, controls, policies, incident response, information classification; ensures the organization is audit ready and meeting program target objectives
    • Leads the development of risk assessments and ensures that resulting action items are addressed in a timely manner
    • Oversees the investigation of major cyber security incidents

    PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor degree in computer science or related field; MBA or equivalent business acumen
    • 10-15 years of progressive Security, IT and Business experience, including cybersecurity and risk management, with at least 7 years in management or significant leadership role
    • 5 years or more as CISO or similar role for a bio-pharmaceutical company with global commercial operations
    • Certification(s) (or equivalent experience) such as CISM, CISSP or CISA
    • Ability to engage, collaborate and influence at executive level
    • Proven experience evaluating and managing cyber security risk of third parties
    • Proven people leadership and management skills  – instilling trust, developing people, driving accountability, executing through teams, ability to give and receive constructive feedback
    • Ability to adapt to a dynamic business landscape and changing priorities
    • Ability to keep pace with latest thinking on information risk management and new cyber security technologies
    • Strong critical thinking skills capable of managing numerous information sources and providing data driven recommendations to senior management
