    Position Profile

    This opportunity is available in both Palo Alto, Ca and Philadelphia, PA

    Primary purpose and function of this position:

    The Associate Director, Capacity and Resource Management (AD Capacity Management) is responsible to establish, lead and manage capacity and resource planning processes for Jazz Pharmaceuticals.  The AD Capacity Management will work in partnership with Jazz finance, human resources and functional area leadership to deliver and analyze FTE demand forecasts vs FTE supply on a quarterly basis.

    The AD Capacity Management will partner directly with Jazz and PMO leadership to monitor and manage labor requirements by establishing and managing processes and systems that deliver confidential data/visualizations that predict functional resource requirements to deliver Jazz pipeline priorities and new development opportunities to meet corporate objectives.

    Major duties and responsibilities:

    Develop, lead and manage Jazz Capacity Management processes in partnership with Finance and Human Resources to establish/maintain robust capacity planning in support of annual and quarterly financial planning Responsible to manage and maintain enterprise systems, metrics and algorithms required to deliver capacity and resource outputs including but not limited to Planisware and Excel based tools Partner with Jazz leadership to establish and maintain functional area specific processes and metrics to predict and monitor labor capacity requirements as well as drive efficient operational planning to meet project and work requirements Provide Global Molecule Leaders with FTE estimates for new portfolio and development opportunities as well as visibility for FTE requirements to support approved development activities Partner with IT Analytics to create capacity management dashboards, reports and analytics as well as present data and outputs to Jazz leadership including functional area leadership teams and governance committees Drive PMO process development / improvement initiatives as well as support and/or lead PMO responsibilities as a partner to R&D and Technical Operations as required Create an environment that fosters team member success and retention.  Responsible for performance management and recruitment as required (permanent or contract) Support other duties as required or assigned

    Education and Knowledge Requirements:

    Education Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree in a science or healthcare related discipline

    Education Preferred:

    Master of Business Administration (MBA)

    Experience Required:

    • At least 3 years experience in the Pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated experience in managing labor and capacity, human resources or labor economics in a Planisware environment
    • At least 5 years of Project Management experience with a high level understanding of the drug development  and functional area requirements
    • Demonstrated ability to implement established Project Management methodologies and enterprise systems
    • Experience leading and working within global multifunctional project teams to establish and implement process change and/or develop deploy software solutions
    • Experience working closely with and presenting to members of Senior Leadership
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead team discussions to collaborate toward pivotal strategic and tactical outcomes
    • Experience leading in a matrix environment and collaborating across multiple business units
    • Experience with vendor management including requests for information, proposal and bid/quote

    Soft Skills:

    • Experience working / communicating with members of senior leadership
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • Approaches change with an open mind and welcomes the thoughts views and opinions of others

    Specialized Knowledge or Certifications needed:

    • Project Management Professional (PMP®) preferred

    Technical Knowledge:

    • Excellent technical aptitude and computer software skills
    • Significant Planisware experience is required
    • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel

    Company/Industry Related Knowledge:

    • Experience in pharmaceutical industry
