    Position Profile

    This opportunity is available in both Palo Alto, CA and Philadelphia, PA

    The Manager, Procurement is responsible for ensuring the end-to-end implementation and execution of the specific category/sourcing process of the Procurement department.  This includes assessing spend, markets, developing category strategies with business partners, identification, evaluation and management of suppliers. The Manager will review and negotiate, when necessary, a high volume of procurement contracts.  This position routinely interacts and influences other departments and key stakeholders across the organization, as well as with partner suppliers and partner contractors. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS;

    The overall scope for the role includes:

    -Leads and assists development of category strategies (based on spend and geographical scope)

    -Ensures end-to-end implementation and execution of the category/sourcing process for various assigned categories, functions and business partners

    -Conducts and supports supplier contract negotiation

    -Proactively seeks, identifies, evaluates, and provides cost savings opportunities

    -Manages competing priorities by thoughtful planning and by communicating with stakeholders to ensure clarity of expectations.

    -Supports the ERP implementation

    -Participates and assists  in development of Procure-to-Pay process and policy development

    -Participates and assists   the internal department with the Procure-to-Pay process

    -Supports procurement operations and vendor management activities as needed

    The primary responsibilities for the role include:

    -Identifies and researches suppliers, including potential new suppliers

    -Negotiates vendor contracts (when necessary)

    -Ensures that the Procure to Pay process is adhered to

    -Ensures compliance with Jazz Pharmaceuticals policies

    -Educates Jazz employees on Procurement process and responsibilities

    -Acts as the liaison between vendors and Jazz departments

    -Thoughtful approach in the analyzing and interpretation of data in order to make recommendations and/or decisions.

    -Demonstrates continuous effort to improve procurement, decrease turnaround times, streamline processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    -Minimum 5 years Procurement/Strategic Sourcing experience

    -Experience with biotech/pharmaceutical companies preferred

    -Experience and knowledge of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations

    -Strong project management and communication skills

    -Experience in leading a strategic planning process

    REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND LICENSES

    Bachelor's degree in business, science or a related field; advanced degree preferred
